Doxology

The following doxology will be so familiar to many of you that the tune will ruminate in your head for the remainder of the day:

Praise God from Whom ALL BLESSINGS flow.

Praise Him all creatures here below.

Praise Him above ye heavenly hosts.

Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.

Amen.

These lyrics echo in my mind this evening as today has been filled with such blessings from my Father. That said, I must acknowledge that, yes, all things come from the hand of our perfect, sovereign God, whether it be that He gives to us or takes something away. Today He has chosen to give a precious treasure that has been rare over the last 6 months and that is energy. I praise Him that the new meds seem to be working and that, for today, I was able to accomplish so many things around my home allowing it to be, Lord willing, a better haven for my husband. Normally, making the bed or emptying the dishwasher would be the big task for the morning. It seemed that with each passing moment I not only had the energy but the desire to take on another chore. Yes, a nap was in order this afternoon, but it was much sweeter with a clean kitchen and a tidy guest room. Though the difficult days have brought great sharpening to my heart and mind, I am thankful that my Faithful Father also chooses to bring delight to His daughter by bestowing ease. My heart is so touched!
